The Carney from Kearney

So when you are born in a town named Kearney, does that mean you will grow up to be a Carney? Well maybe not, but at least you will be a carnival junkie?? OK, I admit it, I went to the state fair 3 times this year!! Am I insane? No, just a sucker for deep fried cookie dough, piggly wiggly fries, corn on the cob and kettle corn and seeing all the freaky people! Besides me :)

I have an explanation of why I went so many times though. The first time was with my parents. We go every year just to see all the booths and to see the hypnotist. We were at the stage where the hypnotist show takes place a little early so we were listening to some Beatles impersonators. There was this drunk Indian who made molly, Stephanie and I dance with him. I figured what the heck and just went crazy dancing with him. It was sooooo funny and so gross! After I was passing around the hand sanitizer.

There was this Revlon booth and you could try out new hair color...what do you think do I look good as a red head??? How bout Molly?

PS...I am on the left!

I was not planning on going the second time that I went, but Sam was not going to use his tickets to the Pet Shop Boys concert so I went instead. I went with Brigham, Tammy, Jake, Kelly and Tammy's younger brother Brian. The concert was surprisingly really good and the people in the crowd were almost as entertaining. Jake, Brigham and Brian had to be a little careful they didn't get hit on! Jake was doing his thing and name dropping and got us lots of free ride tickets and in through the employee exit when we were leaving.

That night I also got hypnotized! I never wanted to do it, but he said he needed some girls to go up so I raised my hand. I still don't know if I was under or if I was just a really great actress. I was trying not to burst out laughing the whole time, but there were times that I couldn't open my eyes and he also kept telling the audience that I was really zonked, so I don't know! I became the world's greatest sign language interpreter and not only did I use my hands, but I used my body. I was being a rodeo girl with a groin injury! I guess it was pretty funny.

Thanks Jake and Sam for a fun night!

So the third night, I went because it was the Demolition Derby. I had originally planned to go just that night but ended up going before that. The Demolition Derby was so fun. I also had free tickets for rides to it was a fun night.

PS....I only got fried zucchini.. I ended up getting sourdough cheese bread, a Chicago style hot dog and corn. not too bad!
