Hello!
Happy Sunday!
I am making cupcakes right now for my Sunday School class today. I don't know how many to plan for, but I figure to batches of cake mix should be enough. I am the ward Wellness Specialist. Our stake created a curriculum to teach the wards about wellness. It is a four week course. The first lesson is on how our bodies our temples and we need to take care of them to be more fit spiritually. The second lesson is on nutrition/word of wisdom. The third is on physical activity and the fourth is on goal setting. It is so cool to see how they have incorporated the scriptures, and conference talks etc into this course. I love it! I think I have read over the lessons a dozen times highlighting things I want to share with the class. I love my calling!
The last time I did the course I had a co-chair. He has moved back to Utah, so I will be teaching all four, which I am okay with, cuz I love to do it. The turn out was really bad the last time. It didn't help that we don't really have a class room. We bounced back and forth from the stage to the nursery. Seriously give us the chapel or something! I think that no one wants to come because they think it is for people who are overweight or have health issues, but really any one can learn from it. I sent out a ward e-mail that it was starting and I have told all my friends to tell their friends to come. It really is an interesting and fun class!
So you might be wondering why I am making cup cakes for my Wellness class. Well, it is my friend's b-day so I told him I would make some cup cakes and I made them (so I totally forgot about them-oops had to run and get them out of the oven. They weren't burned thank goodness) healthy! So I can tell my class that there are good alternative when making treats. Today I made them with applesauce in stead of oil and with egg whites only to eliminate the cholesterol. So there is a method to my madness :) And I am also bringing them to bribe people to come to class, but isn't that why any teacher brings treats????
Work this week was horrible! I don't know what it was but it was just BAD!! I have a long ways to go before being done, so I guess I need to suck it up!
I finished Twilight, by the way, and took it back to the library. I need to put the next one on hold. I got new contacts this week and I am trying to get rid of all my allergies. I also booked my cruise! Who hoo!!!!
Time to get ready for church...
