Friday...

I have been thinking of things all week that I wanted to blog and now that I am finally at a computer typing away I cannot think of what all of them were. So I will just blog the week...I guess, if I can remember :)

Monday I started classes. My Biology teacher is so darn funny so I am in a strange way looking forward to his class. He is very casual, and just go with the flow type guy. Ex: He said "Don't buy the text book I recommend if you don't want to, any anatomy/phys book will work...right, all the cells look the same no matter what book you read." and he begged us to bring food to class if we were going to get board. And then he pulled out a squishy ball and started throwing it at people who were dozing off. Super funny. He also wears funny Hawaiian shirts tucked into his huge old school jeans with Birkenstocks.

I went to the Bio Lab on Thursday and I am kinda worried. I am in Bio 202 and I haven't taken 201. I did take Bio160, but it was about 3 years ago.(But I was one of the only students who got an A in the class- I will never forget that professor. Dr. Mick, slicked back hair into a bun and absolutely no funny business with her. I would leave lab early every Monday night because the Bachelor would be on and she would get so mad and then when she would hand me my lab scores---usually greater than 100%---she would shake her head and say that she didn't know how I did so well) Anyway, my advisor at ASU knows how bad I wanted to get done, so she put in the override for me to go strait to 202. I was completely lost in lab yesterday. All the lab instructor said to us was her name and then demonstrated how to carefully pick up a telescope and take it to our table. DUH---anyone can do that...I was thinking "can you tell me what I need to be doing?" Nope, she just sat there and all the students at my table just started doing stuff (because they just all finished 202 so knew what to do) so...long story even longer :) i am really behind, and don't have a good feeling about my biology lab.

Oh, which leads me to my lab partner. She smells! Bad breathe, B.O. Granted, it was extremely hot yesterday, but man! She was extremely nice and very helpful when she was helping me with the whole telescope issue. She was telling me about her son and she just lighted up. That was cute to see. It's just her and her son and she was telling me about how she needed to get done with school soon so she could take care of both of them. I hope that when I have kids, I light up like her when I talk about them. I bet I will :)

I went to IKEA on Wednesday and had breakfast with Mom and Dad. It was gross. They have french toast sticks now (blah), and I was eating my potatoes with non fat russian/french dressing for a while. It is the same color/texture as ketchup so I assumed that what it was. And they don't have straws anymore! Hello, go down to the front lobby and get a box. Mom said next time she will have to bring her own. Mom had a lot to talk about at breakfast. She went back to school! Way to go Gini!! She was having trouble with her first assignment. I was telling her to make a friend at class and she said she didn't want to. Let's just say the class is a little more diversified than she is used to. Uh, welcome to college Mom. I am happy you are back in the game, don't quit!

So anyway back to IKEA...I got some nice curtains in the AS IS bins to put up for my closet "doors". They are very nice and only cost $10. The material alone would cost more than that. They are really long and once we hem then, the extra fabric is enough to make window curtains.

I worked today from 9:00 to 3:00 and then went back from 5:00 to 9:00 for parties. I was expecting to get some tips, but no! I worked my tail off! BUMMER!

This is really long...sorry for the boring post. Believe me, I wish my life was more exciting too :)

And for those of you who know me, would never believe that during this whole post I have had Coco, the wienie dog sitting on my lab. I need to go wash my hand...ugh! But she caught me at a weak moment, and she looked so sad.

Everyone is probably feeling that way in lab; they just don't let on. I remember thinking I was the only overwhelmed one. You can do it!
Your IKEA meal sounds gross--no offense! Good find though.
