For me at least. I am always the one getting injured. Last year at church softball it was this
"Tuesday I played softball. I only had a minor injury..but I got a HUGE bruise that is really pretty on the upper part of my calf. I was running home and the throw was coming in and hit me. I thought it hit my foot because my foot went numb. What was funny was that I was running so fast that I couldn't stop because I couldn't feel my leg. I hit the fence and fell down. I still thought that the ball had hit my foot until about and hour later when I started to gain feeling again and looked at the back of my leg and saw the imprint of the ball there...it was so weird. "
This year I had some injuries as well. On Tuesday, the first night of the tournament, I re-injured my wrist swinging the bat. I had originally injured it swinging the bat, but it doesn't hurt until I swing, so I forget about it from week to week. So I barely hit the ball, and start to run for first base and the pitcher must have bobbled the ball because it should have been an easy play at first to get me out, but no he decided to mess up even further and throw the ball at my head! It was awesome. So there I was on first base with a pounding head, hurt wrist, and oh yeah, forgot to mention that I was having some stomach problems that night and the bathroom was calling me name.
So of course we win, and we played again on Friday for the championship. We won our first game and during the second game I got hit with a ball. And when I say hit I mean pegged, drilled, tagged...I was pitching and my friend Jay hit a line drive at me. I had very, very little time to react and since I didn't move quick enough it hit my left knee just left of the knee cap. I have no doubt that had it hit the knee square on, I would have a busted knee cap. He hit is so hard that even after it made a pit stop on my leg, it continued to go to right field. He told me after that it felt like a good solid hit, I was like "no, really? I couldn't tell!!!" Ha. I tried to sit out, but we didn't have any extra girls, so I went to catch for an inning and then went back in to pitch. I also hit a triple...no homers this year, but I was ok with that.
I am a little disappointed with the bruise that I got from the hit. I couldn't walk for about 2 days and it was pretty swollen. I deserved one heck of a bruise and it's already starting to heal! It is deep though, so maybe it will start to show up. This is a picture of it the night of. The bigger red dots are blood blisters. It even bruised the other side of my knee! Crazy!

We ended up losing by 1. We didn't play our best, but the umpire was horrible!!! He was making horrible calls that were not consistent. He had never done it before, so you can't blame him. I don't know why they had someone who had never done it before do it, but whatever, it's done now. Both teams that I played on took second place this year...darn it!
I am almost done with school. YEAH!!!! I just have a couple projects left. I have to read "The Cobra Report"...horrible book, it's gross. It's about biological warfare and weird diseases and morgues and autopsies.
I hope all of you have a Happy Thanksgiving and if you are traveling be safe!
